Been a bit lax about updating my blog but here goes.
Well what with work and the fact that my arthritis had been killing me I never got to go to karate and just spent a lot of time just resting my ankles, even when the weekend came round I just spent the first day in the apartment (got a fair bit of work done for school though) but on Friday I went to the Oman Dive centre with Linda, Brian and Donald. It cost 3 Rials to get in but was worth every biases. It is quite a complex, with a restaurant, Bar tent (closed for Ramadan), private beach apartments fresh water swimming pool and of course a fantastic beach! Seen about doing a refresher diving course, so hope to be able to bring you some pictures of the sea life soon.
Even the drive to the ODC (both coming and going) was great with some fantastic views from the mountains, you get to see some really weird and wonderful things like the model of an Incense Burner in the middle of a roundabout, in fact there is quite a lot of sights like this through out Muscat, will have to try and make time to go around and get some pictures of them
Saturday, Sunday and Monday where just normal working days, although I hadn’t forgot that the Ju-Jitsu gradings where on and phoned Sensei Paul Dawson to wish him and the club all the best. Also on Sunday night me and India took a walk to a local cafĂ© for a shwarma and fruit drink (a shwarma is like a small chicken kebab with coleslaw) and yes that me drinking a coconut drink direct out of the coconut!
Monday was a bit of a strange day as we were breaking up for a weeks holiday. This is the Eid Festival which marks the end of Ramadan , the Tuesday is like Christmas Eve and the actual day Ramadan ends (Wednesday) is like a Christmas day and a time for family, friends and celebration. Monday night we had been invited to the British Embassy for a quiz night (sorry no pictures allowed), was a bit of a laugh and we didn’t disgrace ourselves. (looks like its going to be a monthly thing and the beer is cheap, I’m not driving next time!).
Tuesday was a bit of a stay at home day, got some assessments for school done and just generally chilled out. Did a bit shopping and chatted to a couple of friends on MSN. Don’t forget you can always send me an email from this blog or just leave a comment (but be nice please).
Wednesday
Just did some shopping in the afternoon but went to Ruwi Souk that night (a large shopping area) and had a lovely Indian meal and bought some DVD’s. The dvd’s are collections of films like 5 of Bruce Lee movies, Indiana Jones (4 movies) and a Animation collection (which includes Shrek 1&2 and Madagascar) each costing 1 Rial (About ₤1.50)..
Well got a full day planned for tomorrow, going to the beach in the morning and also checking out a couple of cars, going for a sightseeing cruise up the coast in the afternoon and going out with friends for dinner. Will report back later and of course have some more photos.

Well went to Marjan Beach, and as Ramadan is over was able to take something to eat and drink. Went snorkelling as usual and spotted my first turtle! It wasn’t very big about 18inches/2 foot but it was great seeing it close too. Managed to swim with it for a couple of minutes and enjoyed the time! Loads of brightly coloured fish of course, will have to see about getting an underwater camera to take some pictures. Checked out a couple of cars on the way back, got a couple of possibilities, will let you know how I get on.
In the afternoon went with friends to a local marina to board a (motorised) dhow for a 2 hour cruise off the coast, very relaxing but I thought it was a bit over priced at 15 Rials. Took lots of pictures again.
That night we just went to a local restaurant for a bite to eat, then home, was a tiring day but well worth the effort!
I don’t know if you may have noticed but as we move into the ‘Autumn’ season here the air is getting a lot clearer , a lot less heat haze .
